Samsung Wins ITC Ruling In Spansion Patent Fight

Law360, New York (February 28, 2011, 10:43 PM EST) -- A U.S. International Trade Commission judge ruled Monday that Spansion Inc. infringed a flash memory patent held by rival Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.

Administrative Law Judge Carl C. Charneski found that Spansion imported flash drive products that infringed on two claims of Samsung's U.S. Patent Number 5,740,065.

The ALJ also ruled that the '065 patent satisfied the domestic industry requirement to maintain validity, and that there was no convincing evidence that any claim of the patent was invalid.
