Ga. Noncompete Law To Spur Drawn-Out Battles: Attys

Law360, New York (April 01, 2011, 2:31 PM ET) -- While there is still uncertainty over the effective date of Georgia's new noncompete law, it is likely that the state's statute making restrictive covenants easier to enforce will fuel protracted legal fights, employment lawyers predict.

Employment covenants, including those forbidding solicitation, disclosure and competition, have been notoriously tough to enforce in the Peach State, in part because the law in Georgia has required judges to strike down entire agreements if they deem one provision unlawful.
