Acosta Merchandisers Sue Over Off-The-Clock Work

Law360, New York (March 2, 2011, 7:28 PM EST) -- Merchandiser employees hit Acosta Sales & Marketing with a class and collective action in a federal California court Wednesday, alleging the company did not pay them for all hours worked and failed to properly reimburse them for job-related expenses.

The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, says Acosta is violating federal and state labor laws, and that it therefore has an illegal competitive edge over other sales and marketing agencies in the consumer packaged goods sector.
