Acacia Unit Wants Kilpatrick Townsend Off IP Case

Law360, New York (March 03, 2011, 6:35 PM ET) -- Acacia Research Corp. unit Telematics Corp. asked a federal court in Georgia on Tuesday to block Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP from representing defendants in a lawsuit alleging infringement of vehicle tracking patents, citing conflicts of interest.

Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP prosecuted Telematics' patent portfolio between 1992 and 2006, before merging with Kilpatrick Stockton LLP in January to form the firm now representing companies, including OnStar LLC, accused of violating six patents, according to a motion filed by the mobile vehicle display technology company...
