Ex-Aide Sues Fla. Congressman For Sexual Harassment

Law360, New York (March 7, 2011, 6:22 PM EST) -- A former employee of Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Fla., sued the lawmaker Monday for repeatedly subjecting her to sexual harassment while Hastings was chairman of the U.S. Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe.

In the suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Winsome Packer claimed that she repeatedly rejected Hastings crude sexual comments and unwelcome sexual advances and touching — which began in January 2008 — and complained about the harassment to CSCE Staff Director Fred L. Turner.
