Panel Recommends 15% Cut In CO2 Emissions

Law360, New York (April 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A bipartisan group of energy experts proposed a series of policy recommendations Thursday that would reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the United States by 15%.

In a letter to President George W. Bush and Congress, the National Commission on Energy Policy recommended that the United States address global climate change by implementing a cap-and-trade program, increasing fuel economy standards for automobiles and developing advanced coal technologies, among numerous other things.
