Child Deaths Not Linked To Vaccines: Japan Drug Panel

Law360, New York (March 9, 2011, 6:42 PM EST) -- A Japanese drug safety panel said on Tuesday it had found no direct link between the deaths of five children and two pediatric vaccinations made by Pfizer Inc. and Sanofi-Aventis SA the children had received.

The Safety Countermeasure Committee and Vaccines Adverse Event Committee of the Japanese health ministry found that underlying disorders were responsible for at least three of the deaths, a Pfizer spokesman said on Wednesday.
