NY Hospital Workers Win Class Cert. Over Meal Breaks

Law360, New York (March 9, 2011, 8:00 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Tuesday partially granted class certification to three wage suits against hospitals in central New York state, approving classes of employees who claim they had meal breaks deducted from their pay that they didn't actually take. 

Judge David N. Hurd of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York signed off on memorandum decisions and orders in the hybrid state and federal law cases, trimming several plaintiffs from the Fair Labor Standards Act collective action components of the suits. ...
