NY Legislators, Hospital CEOs Charged With Bribery

Law360, New York (March 10, 2011, 8:08 PM EST) -- Federal prosecutors on Wednesday accused two New York state legislators, the former CEO of New York City-area hospital network MediSys Health Network and six others of a wide-ranging bribery scheme related to hospital acquisitions and other projects.

New York state Sen. Carl Kruger and Assemblyman William Boyland Jr. received bribes in exchange for introducing favorable legislation and supporting the hospitals' acquisition attempts, according to a three-count indictment unsealed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
