Constellation Takes On Brokers Over $130M Coal Risk

Law360, New York (March 11, 2011, 2:01 PM EST) -- Insurance broker Meyers-Reynolds & Associates Inc. removed a negligence case to federal court Thursday after Constellation Energy Group Inc. accused it of failing to lift unfavorable terms from $130 million in political risk coverage on Indonesian coal shipments.

Another defendant, London-based insurance broker Price Forbes & Partners Ltd. consented to the removal Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

On the Oklahoma City-based Meyers-Reynolds' advice, according to the energy company's suit, Constellation reached out to Price Forbes for help pursuing political risk...
