Law360, New York (March 11, 2011, 5:56 PM ET) -- An Acacia Research Corp. unit on Thursday settled patent infringement claims against Yamaha Electronics Corp. in a California court over video compression technology, on the heels of a similar resolution with Research In Motion Corp.
Judge George H. Wu of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California signed off on Video Enhancement Solutions LLC's stipulated request to dismiss Yamaha on Thursday, and to drop RIM on Wednesday.
