Law360, New York (March 11, 2011, 8:05 PM ET) -- The U.K. Competition Appeal Tribunal on Friday sharply reduced the fines imposed on six construction firms that allegedly colluded with competitors on building contracts.
Under the judgment, Kier Group PLC had its penalty reduced from £17.9 million to £1.7 million ($2.7 million), Ballast Nedam NV had its penalty lowered from £8.3 million to £534,000 ($858,000) and Bowmer & Kirkland Ltd. had its penalty dropped from £7.6 million to £1.5 million ($2.4 million).
