Rajaratnam Got Inside Info On Goldman Talks: Tapes

Law360, New York (March 15, 2011, 7:20 PM EDT) -- Raj Rajaratnam heard straight from a Goldman Sachs Group Inc. director about the bank mulling major financial sector acquisitions in 2008, according to a phone recording played Tuesday for New York jurors in the Galleon Group LLC chief's insider trading trial.

The former Goldman director, Rajat Gupta, told Rajaratnam in the call, played in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, that Goldman was considering buying Wachovia Corp. or insurance giant American International Group Inc.
