Nationwide Mutual Settles With Katrina Victims

Law360, New York (April 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Marking the latest blow to a major insurer over Hurricane Katrina damage, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. has reached an undisclosed settlement with more than 200 Mississippi homeowners who claimed the company wrongly denied them insurance coverage.

Nationwide Mutual agreed to settle out of court with up to 227 residents of Mississippi's Gulf Coast who sued the insurer over damages caused by Hurricane Katrina, according to the Scruggs Katrina Group, the legal team representing the policyholders.
