Madoff Trustee Now Wants Over $1B From Mets Owners

Law360, New York (March 18, 2011, 8:20 PM EDT) -- The bankruptcy trustee representing the victims of Bernard L. Madoff’s massive Ponzi scheme is now seeking more than $1 billion in alleged fictitious profits and fraudulent transfers from the owners of the New York Mets, an amended complaint filed Friday reveals.

The complaint, filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, seeks $700 million in additional fraudulent transfers from Fred Wilpon and Saul Katz, who own the Mets through Sterling Equities and Sterling Mets LP.
