US Nuclear Agency Pledges Safety Review Of Reactors

Law360, New York (March 21, 2011, 2:14 PM EDT) -- The chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said Monday his agency would conduct a “systematic and methodical” review of the safety of U.S. nuclear reactors in light of the current crisis in Japan.

“Beginning to examine all available information is an essential part of our effort to analyze the event and understand its impact on Japan and implications for the United States,” Chairman Gregory Jaczko said, speaking at an NRC meeting detailing the events in Japan and the U.S. response.
