Wachtell Reps Colgate In Unilever Soap, Laundry Deals

Law360, New York (March 23, 2011, 1:41 PM ET) -- New York-based Colgate-Palmolive Co. will buy Unilever PLC's Sanex personal care brand for $904 million and sell a Latin American laundry detergent concern to its London-based counterpart for $215 million, the companies said Wednesday.

Colgate characterized the Sanex purchase as a strategic acquisition that would strengthen its personal care business in Western Europe. Sanex specializes in liquid body cleansers and deodorants and had 2010 net sales of $260 million.
