Abbott Files New Simcor Patent Suit Against Teva

Law360, New York (March 23, 2011, 2:17 PM EDT) -- Abbott Laboratories launched another patent infringement suit in Delaware on Monday against generic-drug maker Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. in an effort to protect the market for cholesterol treatment Simcor.

Abbott and Abbott Respiratory LLC filed their complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, over Teva's bid for U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval to market a generic version of Simcor, which contains niacin and simvastatin.
