Ex-GSK Atty Gets Indictment Over Wellbutrin Tossed

Law360, New York (March 23, 2011, 7:25 PM EDT) -- A federal judge in Maryland on Wednesday tossed the criminal indictment of a former GlaxoSmithKline PLC attorney, finding that prosecutors misled the grand jury that charged her with covering up off-label marketing of antidepressant Wellbutrin.

Judge Roger W. Titus of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland scrapped the indictment because prosecutors mistakenly told the grand jury to disregard Lauren Stevens’ claim that she relied on outside counsel when dealing with investigators probing GSK’s weight-loss promotion of the drug.
