Senior SEC Atty Accuses Agency Of Race Bias

Law360, New York (March 24, 2011, 1:13 PM EDT) -- A U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission senior counsel sued the agency Tuesday in Washington, alleging her supervisor treated her as “dishonest, lazy and incompetent” because she is black.

Ronesha Butler filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia alleging the SEC violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by discriminating against her because of her race and retaliating against her after she lodged a formal complaint.
