Truck Stop Chains Can't Shake Antitrust Claims

Law360, New York (March 24, 2011, 5:46 PM EDT) -- Ceridian Corp., Comdata Corp. and other national truck stop chains on Thursday lost their bids to toss an antitrust suit brought by independent truck stops claiming they were charged excessive fees on specially issued credit cards.

Judge James Knoll Gardner of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania rejected motions to dismiss filed by Ceridian, Comdata, Pilot Corp. and Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores Inc.

TravelCenters of America LLC was the only successful defendant, dodging two Sherman Act claims.
