Sau-Sea Sues Packer Over Salmon Spread Recall

Law360, New York (March 25, 2011, 11:46 AM EDT) -- Seafood spread maker Sau-Sea Foods Inc. filed a breach of contract suit against packer Lukas Foods Inc. on Wednesday in Maine, alleging the company added egg to the spreads without permission, prompting a recall over health risks.

According to the suit filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine, Lukas breached its contract to manufacture and pack Sau-Sea products when it added the egg, and has harmed Sau-Sea's business and reputation.
