Judge Consolidates Goldman Suits, Taps Lead Counsel

Law360, New York (March 28, 2011, 6:07 PM ET) -- A New York federal judge consolidated six class actions Friday against Goldman Sachs Group Inc. over alleged fraud in its Abacus collateralized debt obligation and appointed Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP and Labaton Sucharow LLP as co-lead counsel.

Judge Paul A. Crotty of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York appointed a trio of pension funds — the Arkansas Teachers Retirement System, the West Virginia Investment Management Board, and the Plumbers and Pipefitters National Pension Group — as lead plaintiffs....
