TAK Cable Techs Win Class Cert. In OT Action

Law360, New York (March 28, 2011, 8:56 PM EDT) -- A federal judge in Minnesota on Monday granted class certification in a collective action alleging cable company TAK Communications Inc. unlawfully failed to pay technicians overtime and charged them equipment rental fees.

Judge John R. Tunheim of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota ruled that all TAK installation technicians were similarly situated — despite servicing different TAK clients — and should have the same opportunity to opt-in to the litigation.
