Aventis Settles Suit Over Allegra Patent

Law360, New York (March 31, 2011, 4:24 PM ET) -- Aventis Pharmaceuticals Inc. has reached a settlement to end its long-running suit accusing several generic-drug makers of infringing patents for allergy drug Allegra, according to an order filed Tuesday in New Jersey.

Judge Garrett E. Brown Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey dismissed the nine-year-old suit with little comment, saying only that if the settlement is not consummated within 60 days, he will reopen the case.
