Sirius XM Subscribers Win Class Cert. In Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (March 30, 2011, 1:45 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Tuesday certified a class of Sirius XM Inc. satellite radio subscribers to bring federal antitrust claims over the 2008 merger that created the company, but trimmed state law consumer protection claims from the suit.

In separate rulings handed down the same day, Judge Harold Baer Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York partially granted the plaintiffs' motion for class certification and handed summary judgment to Sirius on the state law consumer protection claims....
