WTO Says Boeing Got $5B In US Subsidies

Law360, New York (March 31, 2011, 2:07 PM EDT) -- The World Trade Organization said Thursday that Boeing Co. had received $5.3 billion in subsidies from U.S. and local governments since 1989, a ruling that both Boeing and European rival Airbus SAS claimed as a victory.

The 814-page WTO report recommended that the U.S. withdraw about $2.7 billion in subsidies that harmed Airbus, including payments from NASA and the U.S. Department of Defense.
