2nd Circ. Backs Ex-NYC Police Chief's Fraud Sentence

Law360, New York (March 31, 2011, 2:02 PM EDT) -- The Second Circuit on Thursday upheld a tax fraud conviction and four-year prison sentence for former New York Police Commissioner and one-time homeland security chief nominee Bernard B. Kerik.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit saw no evidence that a district judge acted harshly in sentencing Kerik because of the police chief's critical comments about prosecutors, which were published on a website.
