FDA Panel Calls For More Study On Food Dyes, ADHD

Law360, New York (March 31, 2011, 8:13 PM EDT) -- A U.S. Food and Drug Administration panel said Thursday that recent studies had not established a link between consumption of food dyes and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in children, rejecting a call for warning labels on foods with color additives and recommending further research.

The 14-member FDA advisory panel, which met in Silver Spring, Md., on Wednesday and Thursday, heard testimony from experts and consumer advocates before voting on recommendations.
