Massey Manager Failed To Help Injured Miners: Suit

Law360, New York (April 1, 2011, 4:56 PM EDT) -- A wrongful death suit filed Thursday against Massey Energy Co. in connection to a deadly coal mine explosion last year in West Virginia alleges a Massey manager did nothing to help miners who survived the initial blast.

Geneva Lynch — whose husband, William Roosevelt Lynch, died in the accident at the Upper Big Branch Mine — filed the  lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Boone County, W.Va. Several other families have already sued Massey over the explosion, which killed 29 people.
