Lilly Sues Generics Maker Over Zyprexa Patent

Law360, New York (April 4, 2011, 10:12 PM EDT) -- Eli Lilly & Co. sued Accord Healthcare Inc. Monday, hoping to hinder the North Carolina pharmaceutical company's efforts to market a generic version of Lilly's schizophrenia drug Zyprexa.

Lilly launched a patent infringement suit in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina after learning that Accord had filed an abbreviated new drug application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to sell 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 15 and 20 milligram generic Zyprexa tablets.
