PPG To Clean Up Chromium-6 Pollution At NJ Site

Law360, New York (April 05, 2011, 6:44 PM ET) -- PPG Industries Inc. on Tuesday agreed to clean up the site of a former chrome production plant in Jersey City, N.J., settling a suit brought by community and environmental groups alleging Resource Conservation and Recovery Act violations.

PPG will perform a projected 10 years of remedial work on the site and pay the Natural Resources Defense Council $150,000 during that period to resolve the RCRA claims, according to a consent decree lodged in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
