Pictometry System Doesn't Infringe Geospan IP: Judge

Law360, New York (April 06, 2011, 5:58 PM ET) -- A Minnesota federal judge ruled last week that Pictometry International Corp.'s oblique aerial image capture system does not infringe a Geospan Corp. patent, but rejected Pictometry's claims that the patent was invalid.

Ruling on cross-motions for summary judgment in Geospan's patent infringement suit against Pictometry, Judge Ann D. Montgomery of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota on March 31 held that Pictometry had not infringed the patent but also ruled that the company had not proven that the patent was invalid.
