GAO Denies Protest Of $223M Air Force Training Deal

Law360, New York (April 7, 2011, 2:17 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office said Wednesday that it had denied aviation training company CAE USA Inc.'s challenge over a $223 million Air Force training contract awarded to a rival.

The decision by the GAO was rendered March 16, but a public version of the ruling was not released until Wednesday. CAE alleged the Air Force wrongly awarded the $223 million contract to L-3 Communications, even though CAE's bid was $17 million lower.
