Exotic Dancer Takes Swing At Club In FLSA Action

Law360, New York (April 07, 2011, 1:44 PM ET) -- An exotic dancer at an Arkansas nightclub filed a class action Wednesday alleging the club's dancers were misclassified as independent contractors in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

In the suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, dancer Rachel Stallsworth claims that even though numerous court rulings in recent years have held that exotic dancers should not be classified as independent contractors, the owners of the Sensations nightclub in Jacksonville, Ark., continued to classify their dancers as such....
