FloorPro Wins Damages In Marines Contract Fight

Law360, New York (April 7, 2011, 4:21 PM EDT) -- A federal judge on Wednesday ruled that FloorPro Inc., which subcontracted to perform flooring work at a U.S. Marine Corps logistics base in 2002, was entitled to damages from the government for its failure to pay the company.

Judge Loren A. Smith of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims ruled that the government violated an agreement with prime contractor GM&W Construction when it failed to issue a $42,000 two-party check to GM&W and FloorPro, which would have ensured FloorPro got paid for its work.
