Courtroom Broadcast Bill Advances In Senate

Law360, New York (April 7, 2011, 4:09 PM EDT) -- The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday advanced a bill that would authorize federal judges to allow certain proceedings in their courtrooms to be photographed, recorded or broadcast.

S. 410, the Sunshine in the Courtroom Act of 2011, which was introduced by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa and co-sponsored by a number of Democratic and Republican legislators, now heads to the U.S. Senate floor where similar measures have failed to pass on four previous occasions.
