Law360, New York (April 11, 2011, 11:50 AM ET) -- Endo Pharmaceuticals said Monday it would purchase pelvic health company American Medical Systems Holdings Inc. for $2.9 billion in cash, as it seeks to keep abreast in a rapidly consolidating industry.
The deal, which values Minnetonka, Minn.-based American Medical Systems' stock at $30 per share and also includes the assumption of $312 million in its debt, sent the target's stock soaring by more than 32 percent, with its shares closing the day's trading at $29.50 each.
