Players’ League Countersues In Hedge Fund Battle

Law360, New York (May 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The National Football League Players’ Association has fired back against six current and former professional football players who sought to hold the union liable after they lost millions in the collapse of an Atlanta hedge fund.

The NFLPA last week filed a countersuit against Steve Atwater, Ray Crockett, Al Smith, Blaine Bishop, Carlos Emmons and Clyde Simmons, alleging breach of contract. The suit comes in response to a case filed by the players last August.
