EU, Palestine Trade Deal To Lift Agro Import Duties

Law360, New York (April 13, 2011, 5:32 PM EDT) -- The European Union inked a trade deal with the Palestinian government Wednesday that lifts almost all EU tariffs on agricultural and fishery exports from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Under the new deal, signed by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Catherine Ashton and Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, only certain types of fruits and vegetables protected by the EU will still face possible import duties.
