UK To Ban Lethal Injection Drug Exports To US

Law360, New York (April 15, 2011, 6:10 PM ET) -- The U.K. plans to ban the export of three drugs used in lethal injections to the U.S. and has urged the European Union to follow suit, the British government said Thursday.

The U.K.'s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills will send the proposal to block exports to the U.S. of ancuronium bromide, potassium chloride and sodium pentobarbital in the next few days, the agency said, citing concerns about the death penalty in the U.S.
