Ind. Utility Ex-Counsel Denies Helping Duke Energy

Law360, New York (April 15, 2011, 3:46 PM EDT) -- A former attorney for Indiana’s utility regulator on Thursday reportedly denied to a state ethics commission that he gave Duke Energy Corp. special treatment in a string of cases while seeking a job with the company.

Scott Storms, former Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission counsel, told the Indiana Ethics Commission that he drew up a memo offering to reassign cases involving Duke to other attorneys as he vied for a position at the energy giant last year, according to the Associated Press.
