Entergy Sues To Keep Vt. Nuclear Plant Online

Law360, New York (April 18, 2011, 12:08 PM ET) -- Two Entergy Corp. units filed a lawsuit Monday to stop Vermont from closing the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant when its license expires in March 2012, alleging the state General Assembly breached a memorandum of understanding with the company.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has already renewed the plant's operating license through March 2032 following an exhaustive safety and environmental review, according to the complaint, lodged in the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont by Entergy Nuclear Vermont Yankee LLC and Entergy Nuclear Operations...
