OfficeMax Latest Target Over Gift Card Patent

Law360, New York (May 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- OfficeMax Inc. has become the latest target of a lawsuit by a Chicago, Ill.-based patent-holding company seeking licensing fees for alleged infringement of its patent for prepaid phone and gift cards.

Card Activation Technologies Inc. filed the suit Tuesday, claiming that the office supply company violates a patent for a renewable card system.
