USPTO Vows To Hire 900 New Examiners If Congress Passes Fee Bill

Law360, New York (October 20, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office will hire as many as 900 new examiners next year if Congress passes a fee modernization bill, USPTO Director Jon Dudas told the AIPLA annual conference in Washington, D.C.

“Getting the right people is very important. It's one of the things we're most focused on. This is easier today at the USPTO because we have such a highly qualified applicant pool,” Dudas told the intellectual property attorneys gathered for the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s meeting.
