FTC Clears Warburg's $438M Rural/Metro Buyout

Law360, New York (April 19, 2011, 4:35 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission on Monday greenlighted New York-based private equity firm Warburg Pincus’ $438 million acquisition of Arizona-based ambulance and emergency services company Rural/Metro Corp.

The FTC granted early termination of its merger review, finding that Warburg Pincus’ plan to take Rural/Metro private poses no threat to competition in the sector.
