Tobacco Cos. Ordered To Disclose Marketing Data

Law360, New York (April 20, 2011, 8:04 PM EDT) -- A Washington federal judge on Tuesday told Philip Morris Inc., Lorillard Tobacco Co. and other defendants in the U.S. government’s suit against the tobacco industry to comply with a 2006 order and turn over 10 years of marketing data.

Clearing up a dispute over the precise type of data required under the order, U.S. District Judge Gladys Kessler instructed the tobacco companies to provide the government all of their disaggregated marketing data for the next 10 years, starting from July 2010.
