Minn. Court Reverses $16M Plane Crash Verdict

Law360, New York (April 20, 2011, 6:41 PM EDT) -- A Minnesota state appeals court on Tuesday overturned a $16.4 million jury verdict against Cirrus Design Corp. and University of North Dakota Aerospace Foundation, finding they could not be held liable for the deaths of two men in a 2003 plane crash.

The appeals court reversed a county district court's decision that plane maker Cirrus and flight school UNDAF were jointly responsible for a 2003 plane crash that killed pilot Gary Prokop and his passenger James Kosak.
