Contractor Wants Hospital Kickback Case Pruned

Law360, New York (April 20, 2011, 9:12 PM EDT) -- A contractor accused of paying kickbacks to New York Presbyterian Hospital administrators sought to separate his case Wednesday in New York from allegations against an accused administrator, arguing they involved different alleged conspiracies.

Moshe Buchnik said that prosecutors added charges against the hospital's former Director of Facilities Operations Emilio “Tony” Figueroa in an indictment merely to preclude a motion to sever, according to court filings in the Southern District of New York.
