Law360, New York (May 05, 2011, 4:22 PM ET) -- Righthaven LLC has launched more than 200 copyright infringement suits on behalf of newspapers, but a recent loss in a Nevada federal court and an unsealed agreement that allegedly raises copyright ownership questions could pose problems for the company’s litigation strategy, attorneys say.
Over the last year, the so-called copyright troll has waged a massive infringement litigation campaign against defendants, including bloggers and nonprofits, for allegedly using copyrighted content originally published by the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Denver Post without authorization.
